	For our Clients:
	We find the right balance between the cost of “Green” building practices and the benefit to the end user of the building. At Rubeling & Associates, Inc., we believe that sustainable design does not need to cause a significant increase in construction cost, though it should always help to decrease the operational cost of a building. We partner with Engineers, Contractors, and Clients to share the knowledge that each brings to the process. This allows us to educate each other and set realistic goals for the best sustainable design approach for each specific project. We strive to reduce the impact that we have on the environment by reducing the carbon footprint of our buildings. We do this with a balanced design process that specifies environmentally-friendly products and rapidly renewable materials that provide “zero cost” building solutions. We improve the quality of life for building users through natural day-lighting and views, both of which have shown to help students learn more, patients heal faster, and improve employee productivity. We promote the LEED® green building certification program as a benchmark for building performance and communicate economic benefits of environmentally friendly design through life-cycle cost data.
	Within the Firm:
	A U.S. Green Building Council® member since 2003, we currently have eight (8) LEED Professionals™ on staff. Rubeling & Associates, Inc. encourages employees to become accredited and reimburses employees who take the LEED Professional Exam™. As a registered AIA/CES Continuing Education Provider, Rubeling & Associates, Inc. provides educational seminars on sustainable building practices to share the knowledge firm wide. At Rubeling & Associates, Inc., we practice what we preach by recycling office waste, encouraging electronic communication to reduce paper consumption, and promoting flexible work schedules to allow for carpooling.
