Understanding our past gives us direction for the future. Historic buildings help us know the life styles, social activities, and culture of our community’s ancestors. In documenting, renovating, and preserving these structures, we also know the construction methods, tools, materials, and craftsmanship techniques used. Bloomsbury Community Center Catonsville, MD To serve as a community landmark, the front of this 1920’s era middle school remains, but behind the façade is a completely upgraded structure with existing and new gymnasiums, theatre, Baltimore County Recreation and Parks offices, community meeting rooms, and two floors for non-profit organizations. The MD/DC/VA Public Works Association recognized the project with a Revitalization Award.
